El Paso children to gather Saturday to fill bags for military service members

Daniel Tiger will be teaching children how to be neighborly.

Children will get to make goodie bags for soldiers at the local USO.

The bags will contain toiletries donated by the public.

Body wash, shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrushes, razors, unisex deodorant, body lotion and 1 gallon plastic zipper bags are items the public can donate.

Event organizers said there will also be music, dance performances from local groups and demonstrations with Alchemy Karate Academy.

The event is happening at Bassett Place from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday.

The public can donate $50 to KCOS and PBS Kids educational programming and receive Daniel Tiger ears.
