One of the soldiers who arrived in El Paso after a nine-month deployment in Afghanistan surprised his children who have been eagerly waiting for him.

CWO3 Travis Thibodeaux arrived Monday along with more than 100 soldiers who were in Afghanistan.

Thibodeaux safe arrival was perhaps the biggest gift anyone could give to his family and that’s exactly how it happened.

A huge gift box waited for his son, daughter and wife at Immanuel Christian School where his children attend.

The kids got to unwrap it and got the surprise of a lifetime.

His son jumped in his arms and his daughter cried tears of joy.

“We just want to thank Immanuel Christian Academy for providing this opportunity to surprise our kids and to reunite us with our family,” Thibodeaux said. “I’m glad to be home.”
