Fort Bliss Apache helicopters arrive in Germany
RAMSTEIN AIR FORCE BASE, Germany —
About 400 Fort Bliss soldiers are heading to Europe. When they get there, the Apache helicopters they use will be waiting for them.
On Wednesday, approximately 24 AH-64 Apache attack helicopters arrived at Ramstein Air Base, Germany. They were transported there aboard cargo jets from the Air Mobility Wing from Travis Air Force Base.
The solders are from Fort Bliss' 1st Battalion, 501st Aviation Regiment who are taking part in a regular rotation in support of Operation Atlantic Resolve. Their mission will begin in Germany and will likely spread to a dozen European countries during the span of the nine month deployment.
