Massive Mega Bloks flag earns spot in Guinness Book of World Records
OMAHA, Nebraska —
Some volunteers in Nebraska have set a new Guinness World Record.
They created a 60-foot American Flag made entirely out of Mega Bloks.
About 700,000 pieces were used to make the flag.
The volunteers worked through the weekend to finish the massive stars and stripes, which is now on display in Omaha.
The effort earned them a spot in the Guinness World Records for the largest image built with interlocking plastic blocks.
The project was spearheaded by local high school grad John Lang, who wanted to use his love of Legos and Mega Bloks to honor his country. He acquired the pieces of Legos through donations.
