Navy secretary nominee withdraws from contention

In this case, two-out-of-three is bad.

For the second time, a man nominated by President Donald Trump to be a military service secretary has withdrawn from consideration. Both men have cited the same reason for doing so.

Trump picked Philip Bilden for Navy secretary, however he withdrew from the confirmation process this weekend. Army secretary nominee Vincent Viola did the same in January. Both men said they were unable to extract themselves from business conflicts.

That leaves former U.S. Rep. Heather Wilson, (R) NM as the only military service secretary nominee still in contention for the position. Wilson is up for Air Force secretary. She is a graduate of the United State Air Force Academy and served for eight years.
