New veteran resource available on county website

El Paso County Commissioner David Stout and Veterans Advisory Board holds a press conference announcing the new Veterans Resource Guide available.

Veterans and their families can now find resources they may need a little bit easier.

It is a document that can help veterans and their families find any resources they could need and it is all accessible on El Paso County’s website.

To name a few, you could find a list of places to go if you are in need of housing, training programs, health care, legal assistance or help with taxes.

County Commissioner for Precinct 2 David Stout says it is a project he and the county’s Veterans Advisory Board have been working on for years.

It is aimed to make life easier for the nearly 80,000 veterans and family members we have in El Paso County.

"We're having issues with veterans in need of different services and possibly going to one person or to one place, but that person or place may not be able to provide the services that they needed,” he said. “But there are organizations that do provide those services and they really had no idea that they existed."

Stout says the handbook will continue to develop to keep up with any changes providers make.
