Charges against former teacher accused of improper relationship with student dropped
EL PASO, Texas (CBS4) —
The case against a former Fabens teacher accused of having an improper relationship with a student has been dropped, according to the district attorney’s office.
Kenneth Evans was arrested in January after a 16-year-old student came forward about the alleged sexual abuse.
The district attorney’s office said the teenager did not want to move forward with the case.
The alleged victim was interviewed by authorities on July 29 and made a “credible and consistent outcry” regarding the abuse, court documents said.
Evans was listed as a science teacher and wrestling coach on Fabens High School’s website.
Evans was put on paid administrative leave when he was arrested but officials told the El Paso Times on Monday that he was no longer employed with the district.
