It lasted about 20 minutes, according to officials.

Sgt. Moises Vasquez said a trooper was trying to pull over 19-year-old Kevin Jonathan Alejandre for an equipment violation near Dyer Street and State Loop 375 South.

Alejandre ignored the trooper and drove off until he came to a dead-end street near Mark Jason Street and Karl Court, in the Montana Vista area in far east El Paso County, said authorities.

No injuries were reported.

Troopers placed Alejandre and his passenger, David Saenz, 19, into custody, Vasquez said.

Alejandre was charged with evading in a motor vehicle, and Saenze was taken into custody, as he has several active warrants for his arrest.

The warrants included the charges of evading arrest and criminal mischief, Vasquez said.

Both were booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility.
