El Paso teenager headed to perform at Carnegie Hall in New York
El Paso, Texas —
An El Paso teenager is heading to Carnegie Hall this summer.
David Schonberger is an aspiring bass trombone player.
He has been a member of the El Paso symphony youth orchestra since age 11.
Now, the Coronado high sophomore will be representing El Paso at Carnegie Hall's National Youth Orchestra this summer.
David auditioned for a month-long program in New York and was selected.
He will also be touring in Ecuador, Colombia and Mexico after his performance in New York.
David says he also got into a prestigious boarding high school in Michigan where he will have a chance to work on his music.
He will start there next year.
David's family is raising money to send him on those adventures.
