EPCSO hosts Special Response Team School for area law enforcement officers

EPCSO hosts Special Response Team School for area law enforcement officers.

Area law enforcement officers attend a Special Response Team School hosted by the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Thursday.

The officers trained in one-man cell extractions, two-man tactics extractions, riot/civil disturbances, and hostage and rescue in a correctional setting.

The Sheriff’s Office jail facilities, Region VIII Academy Range and the El Paso County Coliseum were used as training locations.

The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Region VIII Academy provided training to the Sheriff’s Office detention officers, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents, Arizona Department of Corrections officers, and New Mexico Prisons officers.

The Sheriff’s Office says agencies participating in the training made completion a requirement for their officers.
