EPISD to offer free lunches to students this summer
For some kids in the Sun City, a school meal may be the only meal they get that day.
Morehead is one of 43 El Paso Independent School District (EPISD) schools that are going to offer breakfast and lunch during the summer.
This is all a part of their Summer Food Service Program.
Kids ages 1 to 18 will qualify.
Both breakfast and lunch will be free of charge without eligibility or restrictions.
This is all a part of their summer food service program.
Meals will be served at selected EPISD Schools Monday through Thursday at elementary and middle schools and Monday through Friday at high schools.
The summer meal program will start from June 11 and run through June 28 for most elementary and middle schools, and June 29 at most high schools. Some schools will continue summer meal service through July 19 or July 25.
Breakfast serving times are from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. for elementary and middle schools and 7:15 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. for high schools. Lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at all campuses.
There is one exception -- No meals will be served July 2 through July 6. That is the district’s summer holiday break.
