EPPD: Two teens, 15, arrested in connection to vehicle burglary in northeast El Paso


Police arrest two 15-year-old teens accused of breaking into vehicles in northeast El Paso early Tuesday morning.

Authorities said officers were called out to the report of two teens pulling on vehicle’s door handles in the 4500 block of Loma Linda just after midnight.

That’s when officers arrived and saw the two teen males and approached them, police say.

Officials say the two teens ran from police and one of the teens was caught after a foot chase.

Investigators say both teens were working together and had stolen items from a vehicle on the 4500 block of Loma Canada.

Investigators say the items from that incident were recovered

The El Paso Police Department says the second teen was found Thursday.

Police say both teens cases on burglary of vehicle, possession of drug paraphernalia and evading arrest or detention have been referred to the Juvenile Probation Department.

The El Paso Police Department says vehicle burglary cases are up 9 percent across the city compared to this time last year.

Police also say vehicle burglary cases in the northeast are down by 3 percent from 199 cases this time last year to 194 this year.
