Estimated 290,000 people attend annual Thanksgiving parade
EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) —
It was another successful year for the FirstLight Federal Credit Union Sun Bowl Parade.
Officials with the Sun Bowl Association announced that about 290,000 people showed up to enjoy the parade, some setting up their spot as early as 4 a.m.
About 85 units, including floats, bands, monster trucks and the famous Clydesdales, were part of the annual tradition.
And the weather could not have been better, with temperatures in the mid-70s.
“Things seemed to go well again this year, and one of the best parts of the parade was the weather,” executive director of the Sun Bowl Association, Bernie Olivas, said. “When the weather is this nice, it is expected that more people will show up.”
