Family and Friends mourn the loss of man murdered near Hueco Tanks
The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office has named 21-year old Cornelius D. Harrison as the suspect in the death of 22-year-old Frankie Alexander Hernandez, who was found dead near the 4400 block of Stagecoach Road.
Loved ones say 22-year-old Frankie Hernandez was taken away too soon by a senseless murder.
Olivia Hernandez is the sister of the victim. She remembers attempting many times to get a hold of her brother.
"I called him that night. I called him that morning. I called him at 3:00 I called him at 5:00. I called him at 6:00. We left the door open for him to come home, and he never showed up," she said.
Olivia Hernandez says her family is still in shock about her brother’s death.
"I didn't believe it ...I felt sick," Olivia Hernandez said.
Daniel Olivas was Frankie Hernandez's close friend. He says he doesn’t know why Frank Hernandez was murdered, but they are grateful the suspect was caught.
"It warms my heart knowing that they found who did this, but at the same time, that's not gonna bring my friend back," Olivas said.
Family and friends say Frankie Hernandez lived life fully.
"It's really an understatement to talk about how many people truly loved this man,” said friend Christian Soto-Laboy.
Close friend Joseph Iglesies says he will miss Frank Hernandez's enthusiasm.
"He liked to have a good time like everybody else, but when it came down to it, he was very ambitious. He knew what he wanted and he knew he wanted to make his parents proud," Iglesies said.
Family and friends say Frankie Hernandez may be gone but he will never be forgotten.
"No words could explain Frank, you know? He was just his own person. There will never be another Frank,“ close friend Gabriel Hernandez said.
