Hatch cheerleading coach accused of having sexual relationship with student
EL PASO, Texas (CBS4) —
An 18-year-old cheerleading coach is facing charges for having an inappropriate relationship with a student.
Alvaro Omar Nunez, a cheer coach at Hatch Valley High School, was charged with three counts of criminal sexual penetration of a minor after an officer caught him and the student having sex in a vehicle near Spring Canyon Road, according to a spokeswoman with the Dona Ana County Sheriff’s Office.
According to court documents, Nunez was a senior in high school when he first met the student. At the time, the student was in middle school.
Nunez was arrested Thursday. He’s being held without bond at the Dona Ana County Detention Center.
