Hot temperatures don't manage to keep people indoors
Triple-digit temperatures were seen across El Paso Saturday.
“I’m just hot,” Laney Pope said.
Temperatures throughout the day crept up to 102 by 2:00 p.m. Saturday, when several families were out enjoying Bob O's Family Fun Center.
“We're celebrating our son’s birthday and we decided to come out with family and friends,” a member of the Esparza family said.
Some managed to make the game park work to their advantage and keep cool.
“The best trick is to have one of your boys, like our boys did, soak you in the water soakers in the boats and I feel cool right now and I don't feel any heat,” Esparza said.
“We went to play laser tag twice and did the go-karts twice,” Pope said.
By 3:00 p.m. temperatures kept rising and had reached 103 degrees.
That still didn't keep people from heading out to San Jacinto Plaza.
“This little kid wanted to play ping pong, so we decided to bring the whole family out here,” Joel Martinez said.
El Paso finally reached its maximum temperature of 105 just before 4:00 p.m.
“I need something to drink, but I'm good, I think,” Martinez said.
Temperatures dropped below 100 degrees around 8:00 p.m..
