Las Cruces man dies after being struck by vehicle on I-25
LAS CRUCES, N.M. (KFOX14/CBS4) —
A Las Cruces man is dead after being struck by a vehicle Thursday night while trying to run across Interstate 25 near mile marker 3, said New Mexico State Police.
Frankie Vigil, 22, suffered life-threatening injuries when he was hit by the vehicle shortly before 10:30 p.m. while attempting to run across all six lanes of the interstate, police said.
Vigil had to be airlifted to University Medical Center in El Paso, police said.
He was pronounced dead Friday while receiving treatment for his injuries, police said.
New Mexico State Police said the crash is still under investigation.
