Las Cruces woman pleads guilty to heroin trafficking
LAS CRUCES, N.M. (CBS4) —
A 29-year-old Las Cruces woman pleaded guilty to heroin trafficking, federal officials said.
Alma Delia Perez was arrested in June at the U.S. Border Patrol checkpoint in Las Cruces, when agents found 570 grams of black tar heroin in the back seat, officials said.
Perez pleaded guilty saying she conspired with others to deliver the drugs to people within the U.S. for money, officials said.
Perez faces a maximum sentence of 20 years in federal prison. Her sentencing hearing has not been scheduled.
