Law enforcement investigating deadly motorcycle crash in West El Paso
EL PASO, Texas —
El Paso police are investigating a deadly motorcycle crash in West El Paso.
It happened on Sunland Park Drive and Mesa Hills Drive around 9:15 p.m. Wednesday.
Special traffic investigators believe 34-year-old Robert Gonzalez was driving his motorcycle on Sunland Park Drive.
Investigators said 49-year-old Michael Mendoza was turning into a business when he hit the motorcycle, causing Gonzalez to fly from the bike.
Gonzalez was taken to University Medical Center, where he died from his injuries.
Police say Mendoza failed to yield to Gonzalez, and Gonzalez was speeding.
This is the 41st traffic death this year.
The investigation is ongoing.
