LCPD officer quits after being arrested on suspicion of DWI
LAS CRUCES, N.M. —
A Las Cruces police officer resigned from the department after he was arrested for DWI last week.
Ryan Holguin was arrested Friday just before 3 a.m. by a Dona Ana County sheriff’s deputy, according to Kelly Jameson with the sheriff's department.
Holguin was not booked into jail at the discretion of the deputy, Jameson said. He was released with the promise that he would appear in court.
Dan Trujillo, spokesperson with the Las Cruces Police Department, said Holguin was immediately placed on administrative leave after the department found out about the DWI. Holguin submitted his resignation later that day.
He had been an officer with the department since March 6, 2017, Trujillo said.
