No foul play suspected after woman jumps out vehicle, driver arrested for DWI
LAS CRUCES, N.M. (CBS4) —
A man was arrested for DWI after his fiancée reportedly jumped out of the vehicle they were driving in and died.
Kelly Jameson, spokesperson for the Doña Ana County Sheriff’s Office, said Lauro Hinojosa, 26, and his fiancée Brenda Lenderman, 26, were driving near the intersection of Valley Drive and Engler Saturday night after a family gathering.
The couple was headed home when Lenderman allegedly opened the passenger door and jumped out on her own accord, Jameson said.
Deputies who responded to the incident performed CPR on the woman until medical units arrived. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Hinojosa was arrested for DWI and released Sunday.
Jameson said the incident remains under investigation and no foul play is suspected.
