Man shoots car burglary suspect outside northeast El Paso home, police say
EL PASO, Texas (CBS4) —
An 18-year-old man accused of breaking into a vehicle was shot by the car’s owner, police said.
The shooting happened about 11:50 p.m. Wednesday on the 9000 block of Mount Delano Drive in northeast El Paso.
Police said family members told the vehicle owner that someone was breaking into his car.
The owner armed himself with a handgun and went outside, and during the confrontation, the 18-year-old was shot, police said.
The 18-year-old was taken to University Medical Center with a gunshot wound to his lower torso.
Police said charges against the 18-year-old are pending.
