Mariachi Loco Music Festival returns to San Jacinto Plaza
EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) —
Mariachi groups are once again invading downtown El Paso today, May 5, for the Mariachi Loco Music Festival at San Jacinto Plaza.
The festival will start at 3 p.m. and includes a mariachi competition between students from local high schools, organizers said. The groups Los Amos de La Sierra and Cuates de Sinaloa will also perform.
Organizers say that the festival will also include a variety of Mexican food, arts and crafts vendors, and $1 tequila shots.
The event is free, but the festival offers VIP tickets for $20 each. According the event organizers, the VIP package will include front seating to the performances, VIP access to the bar, and a courtesy margarita.
