NWS: Flash Flood Warning until 3 a.m. for Central Dona Ana County, N.M.
The National Weather Service in El Paso has issued a Flash Flood Warning for Central Dona Ana County in south central New Mexico.
The warning lasts until 3 a.m. Mountain Daylight Time.
According to the NWS, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain along the Rio Grande Valley from Las Cruces southward to San Miguel and Mesquite.
Flash flooding is expected to be in progress or to begin shortly.
Some locations that will experience flooding include: Las Cruces, San Miguel, Mesilla, San Miguel In Dona Ana County, Mesquite, NMSU Main Campus and Vado.
When encountering flooded roads, turn around and don't drive through them.
Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
Be cautious at night when it is harder to recognize flooding.
