Park Tavern scheduled to open its doors in downtown El Paso

A new restaurant is opening in downtown El Paso and it features new American cuisine.

A ribbon cutting ceremony for Park Tavern will held at 4 p.m. Friday.

The new restaurant is at 204 E. Mills Ave. next to San Jacinto Plaza.

Park Tavern was conceptualized by restaurateurs Danny and Gabi Heredia, who also own 150 Sunset in the Upper Valley; Ramiro Gomez, who has 20 years of experience in the restaurant business; Scot Walker, executive vice president of Mimco Inc. and entrepreneur Lane Gaddy.

The restaurant is bringing 40 new jobs to downtown El Paso.

“Our meals are enhanced with a selection of domestic and imported wines, craft beer and specialty cocktails,” Gabi Heredia said.

Some of Park Tavern’s specialty dishes include the Asian noodle salad, bronzino fish and a decadent coconut cream pie.

“This restaurant is exactly what downtown needs. Great food, ambiance, and service. I recommend ordering the elk,” Walker said.

Restaurant hours are Monday through Thursday 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Friday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. with the bar open until 2 a.m., and Saturday from 4 p.m.to 11 p.m. with the bar open until 2 a.m.

Park Tavern offers happy hour Monday through Friday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
