EL PASO, T.X. (KFOX14/CBS4) —
Special traffic investigators with the El Paso Police Department have identified the motorcyclist killed in an accident on Interstate 10 West at McRae Boulevard.
In a press release police said, on Friday just before 4:30 p.m., 46-year old Roberto Galarza was riding a motorcycle in the left lane on I-10 West before traffic slowed causing him to brake and lose control. As he lost control of the motorcycle, he fell into the lane next to him and was struck by a tractor-trailer that was traveling west in the middle lane, police said.
Galarza died at the scene, according to police.
The collision caused I-10 westbound near Yarborough to close for about five hours before it was reopened just before 9:30 p.m.
