A reward of up to $1,000 is being offered for anyone who helps identify a couple accused of shoplifting electronics worth over $3,000 from Walmart.

The incident happened just before 5 p.m. Thursday at the Walmart at 1550 S. Valley Drive, police said.

Surveillance video shows a man breaking the lock on a case holding electronics. He then put several iPods and Beats headphones in a shopping cart.

The video then shows a woman cover the items with a small rug. The couple walked to another part of the store where they loaded merchandise into their pockets and inside a fanny pack.

The man and woman walked out of the Walmart before paying for the items, which are estimated to have a value of $3,500, police said.

According to police, the couple was seen leaving the parking lot in what appeared to be a white SUV, possibly a GMC Yukon or Chevrolet Suburban. The vehicle is believed to have Texas plates.

Anyone with information on the suspects is asked to contact Las Cruces Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

The number is in operation 24 hours a day and a name is not needed to collect a reward.
