Trial for woman accused killing man over Ecstasy pills begins today

Brianna Garray, one of three people charged with murder in connection with the death of Jose Castanon in 2013, had her trial pushed from Monday to July 21.

Ricardo Macias Jr. and Sonia Bautista, along with Garray, are accused of killing Castanon over Ecstasy pills.

An arrest report stated the group broke a jar over Castanon's head, then stomped him to death.

It happened at Castanon's home in Central El Paso.

Bautista has since been convicted and is now serving a 48-year sentence.

Jury selection for Macias' trial began Monday. He faces charges of murder, aggravated robbery and aggravated assault causing serious bodily injury.
