U.S. Postal Service launches mail preview service
The United States Postal Service has a new service that lets customers know what's being delivered to their mailboxes.
Informed Delivery is free. It launched Friday in El Paso.
Images of the mail scheduled to be delivered will be emailed every morning to customers who are signed up.
Initial reaction was positive.
"I think that would be a great service, especially if they could even text us when it's there and available for pickup. I think it would be an excellent service," said Al Dominguez.
"That's actually kind of cool because you see so many instances on TV or social media now where people are stealing packages off of your front porch or simply out of your mailbox. I think it's a really cool idea," said Cami Martin.
The service is currently available only to residential customers. It's not available for post office boxes.
