Woman wanted in 2016 Pendale hit-and-run that resulted in death arrested
EL PASO, Texas —
A woman was arrested in connection with a deadly hit-and-run crash that happened last year in the Lower Valley.
Sylvia Quiroz, 44, was arrested at a home on the 1400 block of Winslow Road Tuesday on an outstanding warrant for an accident involving a death.
According to court records, 46-year-old Alexander Garcia died after being hit by a vehicle on Pendale Road and Link Drive on July 27.
Quiroz allegedly hit Garcia with the vehicle she was driving and failed to render aid after it was apparent that the victim was in need of medical treatment, the indictment states.
El Paso County Sheriff’s Office deputies assigned to the U.S. Marshals' Lone Star Fugitive Task Force took the woman into custody.
Quiroz was booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility following her arrest.
