Update: 1 dead, another seriously injured in Upper Valley crash
EL PASO, Texas (CBS4) —
A man was killed in a fiery crash Tuesday morning after his vehicle crashed into a large tree in the Upper Valley.
The crashed happened around 1 a.m. when police said a man was speeding in a 2007 BMW.
The vehicle drove off the road around the 5500 block of Montoya Drive, drove onto a dirt shoulder and crashed into a large tree, police said.
The car caught fire upon impact and the driver died at the scene, police said.
A passenger suffered serious injuries and was taken to University Medical Center for treatment.
Police said speed an alcohol were factors in the crash.
The identities of the victims were not released.
