Purpose of the downtown arena to be decided Tuesday
The use of the downtown arena is still up in the air, at least until today.
Today an Austin judge will explain in detail what events will take place in the downtown arena.
Both the city of El Paso and opponents will find out the use of the arena.
Earlier this month, Judge Amy Clarke Meachum ruled the downtown arena project can continue, but it can't be a sports-based arena.
Attorneys for the city believe the project can still have sporting events.
Opponents would like to completely cut sports out of the equation.
Today, Judge Meachum will give a declaratory explanation of her ruling.
Both parties will sit in to hear her answer at the Travis county court houseCounty Courthouse in Austin.
That hearing will begin at 1 p.m. mountain time.
