2016 regular season tickets for Chihuahuas go on sale

EL PASO, Texas - Tickets for the El Paso Chihuahuas 2016 regular season will go on sale to the general public Saturday.

Chihuahua officials said tickets for the exhibition game against the Padres will also go on sale Saturday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Durango Box Office at Southwest University Park.

Tickets can also be purchased online at or over the phone starting at noon.

Season seat holders will be given the first opportunity to purchase their tickets beginning at 10 a.m. Wednesday and Paw-tial Plan holders can buy tickets Thursday, officials said.

Members of the general public who filled out an interest form online will have the opportunity to buy tickets Friday.

A mini fan fest will be held Saturday where guests who purchase tickets in person will be given the opportunity to get a glimpse of Southwest University Park, take photos with Chico and take part in the team shop sale.

Tickets are available starting at $5. Purchasers who buy in advance will enjoy savings ranging from $2 to $3 per ticket per ticket on reserved seating versus purchasing on the day of the game. There is a $1.50 convenience fee per ticket for online purchases.

The Chihuahuas open the 2016 campaign on the road against the Diamondbacks.

Opening Day is set for April 15 versus the Aces.

"We are heading into 2016 with excitement and enthusiasm," said Brad Taylor, general manager for the El Paso Chihuahuas. "With the addition of the Padres exhibition game and some creative new promotions, we will continue to make Chihuahuas baseball at Southwest University Park memorable, fun and entertaining for our fans."
