Capps & Barajas ejected in losing effort at ABQ
ABQ, N.M. (CBS4) -- The Albuquerque Isotopes (38-37) scored 12 unanswered runs in the second half of Sunday night’s game and beat the El Paso Chihuahuas, 12-5. The Isotopes won three of the four games in the series. El Paso (37-38) went 3-5 on its eight-game road trip.
Manuel Margot went 1-for-3 with two walks, a two-run triple and two stolen bases in his fifth MLB injury rehab game. El Paso starter Zach Lee pitched four perfect innings to begin his seventh start before Albuquerque reached base four times in the fifth. Chihuahuas reliever Carter Capps and manager Rod Barajas were ejected in the eighth inning after two illegal pitches were called on Capps. They were the third and fourth ejections of the Chihuahuas season.
Sunday’s first pitch was delayed 19 minutes by inclement weather in the area.
