PCL: Chihuahuas pitching remains stingy, clinches series win over 51's on Sunday
EL PASO, Texas (CBS4) -- The El Paso Chihuahuas (3-1) hit three home runs in their 7-2 win over the Las Vegas (1-3) 51s (Mets affiliate) Sunday afternoon at Southwest University Park. Dinelson Lamet pitched 5.1 shutout innings to pick up his first win of the season. El Paso starting pitchers have allowed only two earned runs in 23.1 innings this season.
Jamie Romak went 2-for-3 with a home run, a double and a walk. Romak has reached base three times in each of the last three games. Collin Cowgill hit his second home run of the season and Cory Spangenberg also went deep, a solo shot to left field in the eighth inning. One day after Tony Cruz had two hits and three RBIs, fellow catcher Rocky Gale went 2-for-4 with two runs driven in.
Romak is tied with three other players for the Pacific Coast League lead in home runs with three.
