National Signing Day

Over the last dozen or so years, high school football in Maryland has shown vast improvement. The players are getting better, and that means National Signing Day has become a big deal around here. Tuesday, Gilman's standout quarterback Kai Locksley, the consensus top player in the area, signed a grand-in-aid with the University of Texas. This signaled a change of heart for Locksley, who previously committed to Florida State last summer.
Franklin High had six players sign on Wednesday, including twins Jacquez and Jordan Adams, who will both play at West Virginia, and the state's offensive player of the year, offensive lineman Patrick Allen, who signed with Georgia in the SEC. The Adams brothers and Allen helped lead Franklin to back to back state championships.
