Connect With Ashley Claster

Ashley Claster joined the CBS4/KFOX14 News team in August 2015 as a reporter for CBS4 Daybreak. Ashley comes to us from KJTV Fox 34 in Lubbock, where she started her career as the News at 9 reporter before becoming the morning reporter on "Good Day Lubbock," where she hosted a segment called "Look Around Lubbock."

Ashley is a Texas native, having grown up in Frisco. She earned her bachelor of arts degree in converged broadcast media from the University of North Texas in Denton. While at UNT, Ashley was involved in ntTV News, the student-run news channel, where she served as a reporter, anchor, and producer. She interned at both NBC5 and WFAA Channel 8 news in Dallas-Fort Worth. She was also an active member of her sorority, Pi Beta Phi. During her senior year, Ashley worked part time at NBC5/KXAS as a production assistant. She loved the thrill of working in a top-five market at such a young age, and took every opportunity to learn from her co-workers.

Ashley has wanted to be on the news for as long as she can remember, having been bitten by the journalism bug in fourth grade, when she was selected as the Texas Rangers/Radio Disney Kid reporter and conducted pregame interviews with Texas Rangers players. She continued her career path as an anchor for her middle school news broadcast, then spent four years as a reporter and anchor for Centennial High School TitanTV, winning several awards at national competitions.

When she is not covering the news, Ashley enjoys music, watching TV and movies. She likes to bake and cook for friends, as well as country dancing and discovering new places. She loves spending time with her cat, Hamilton, and has thoroughly enjoyed the warm welcome she has received since moving to El Paso.

Ashley is very excited to be here and meet the people of El Paso and tell their stories. If you see her around town, stop and introduce yourself. She would love to meet you. And if you have a story idea, feel free to email, Tweet or Facebook her.
