Car seat safety program keeps children safe, offers free car seats to families
A local nonprofit organization is making sure children stay safe on the roads this holiday season.
El Paso Health is hosting a car seat safety program that will consist of monthly clinics coordinated by the University Medical Center Foundation.
During the clinics, free car seats will be distributed, and families will be educated on car safety and safety while traveling.
Since the car seat program began in 2015, the UMC Foundation has provided 2,153 new car seats to families in the El Paso community.
To schedule an appointment for a car seat check, contact Carolyn Williams at 915-521-7229, ext. 8052, or via email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
"It is important for us to make sure we do something for the community that benefits families," said Frank Dominguez, CEO of El Paso Health. "El Paso Health serves children and pregnant women, so it's a perfect fit for what we do, day in and day out. Prevention is not just going to the doctor to get immunizations; it means safety."
