LIST: Veterans Day events happening in El Paso, Las Cruces
On Sunday Americans will be honoring our nation's heroes.
This is the list of events happening in El Paso and Las Cruces that are open to the public.
The Las Cruces Veterans Day Parade is 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, along Water and Main Street. This year’s theme is “Salute to Women Veterans.”
The annual Northeast Veterans Parade is 9 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 11, at Stahala and Hondo Pass and ending at Old Glory Memorial at Diana and Gateway North for ceremony.
Freedom Fest at Freedom Crossing at Fort Bliss, 1611 Haan Road, hosts its 4th annual Veterans Day weekend Carnival at 2 to 9 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 10-11, with live bands, small carnival rides and performers, games, lucha libre, live artists, pony rides, beer, food, fortune teller. Fireworks finale both days. Admission is free; the public is welcome.
San Elizario Veterans Day Celebration parade begins at 9 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 10. A Veterans Celebration begins at 10:30 a.m. A Candle Lighting Ceremony, POW-MIA Table Ceremony and Flag Folding Ceremony will be observed. Veterans honored are Octavio Hernandez Jr., Martin Medina, George Rey, Eloy Joe Soto, and Javier Soto.
Mesilla Veterans Day is honoring the town’s veterans. It starts at 11 a.m. to noon Sunday, Nov. 11, at Parque de los Veteranos, Avenida de Mesilla and Calle del Norte in Mesilla.
