Sample ballots, polling places ready for Saturday election

Saturday is election day, and many local seats are up for grabs including El Paso City Council members and El Paso mayor.

El Paso Mayor Oscar Leeser is not running for re-election and eight candidates are vying for his seat.

Several city council seats are up for grabs including city representatives for districts two, three, four and seven.

Those heading to the polls on Saturday can build a sample ballot that can be printed for reference.

The polls will be open until 7 p.m. Saturday. The following is a list of polling places.

Candidates need 50 percent of the vote plus one or the top two candidates will go to a runoff. A runoff election is scheduled for June 10.

City Rep. Cortney Niland is resigning from her District 8 seat, and an election to replace her is set for June 10.
