Actress Melissa Joan Hart revealed this week she was at the scene of the mass shooting at a Christian school in Nashville.

Hart took to Instagram where she broke down in tears describing helping "tiny" kindergarteners cross the street as they climbed out of the woods to flee from the shooter.

The actress says her children attend classes near The Covenant School. Hart and her husband were on their way to their kids' school for conferences and were in the Green Hills area at the time.

"We helped a class of kindergarteners cross a busy highway," she said through tears. "They were climbing out of the woods, they were trying to escape the shooter situation at their school."

"We helped all these tiny little kids cross the road and get their teachers over there. We helped a mom reunite with her children."

Metro Police Chief John Drake said most kids and teachers on Monday fled to a tree line to escape the gunman.

Hart says this was her second experience dealing with a school shooting, adding her family lived in Connecticut a few blocks down from Sandy Hook.

"I just don't know what to say anymore," Hart said. "Enough is enough."
