Las Vegas schools receive music programs grant, surprise Imagine Dragons performance
Three schools in the Clark County School District are receiving a $40,000 grant for their music programs.
The schools -- Dell H. Robison Middle School, Cashman Middle School, and Ed W. Clark High School -- were given the donation on Thursday, along with a surprise performance.
Grammy Award-winning band, Imagine Dragons, alongside executives from Life is Beautiful, Toyota, and VH1 Save the Music, handed over the check today to the schools' administrators.
The kids actually had no idea that the Grammy Award-winners would be on campus at Clark High School Thursday, making quite the surprise for the students.
The band is back in their hometown, celebrating the local young musicians ahead of the Life is Beautiful festival.
The grant will go primarily towards purchasing new instruments for each of the schools, making sure the students have the best equipment when it comes to their music.
Imagine Dragons also performed an intimate set in support of the $40,000 donation for the students Thursday.
