Authorities are saying the body found Tuesday was an infant.

The El Paso County Sheriff's Office had initially identified the victim as a juvenile, but a spokeswoman later said it was an infant.

Deputies said they responded Tuesday to a report of an unresponsive person found in the 4200 block of Krag Street, about 12 miles from where a teenage boy was found last week.

Investigators said the victim found Tuesday was an infant. The infant was pronounced dead at a hospital, they said.

The Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit and Crime Scene Unit responded.

The case is under investigation. Investigators are waiting for the toxicology results, before releasing additional information, said EPCSO spokeswoman Leslie Antunez.

A Horizon High School student was found “unresponsive” in a desert area near Horizon Boulevard nearby. Officials have not released how that teenage boy died.

Investigators said this case is not related to the case reported on Dec. 1.
