EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — Despite these hot temperatures, big events will still go on across the Borderland. That includes three El Paso Chihuahuas games that start Friday night and go through Sunday.
To help beat the heat, you can bring your own clear, sealed water bottle and fill it up for free inside the stadium using their water fountains.
Angela Olivas, El Paso Chihuahua’s senior director for marketing and communications said that's just one thing that will help fans stay cool.

“We have the splash for the kids, we have fans all along the concourse and then it’s covered, so as soon as the sun goes down we are completely shaded,” Olivas said.
Those fans that Olivas is talking about really do go all along the concourse, and they are big, running at all times to help circulate as much airflow as possible.
“Since the ballpark was built, we understand that we are in a hot climate, so we’ve had these installed since day one and that’s exactly what it’s meant to do, to circulate the air, from the concession stands to the fans on the concourse,” Olivas said.
Olivas said they are expecting up to over 7,000 people a night.
While there are many ways to stay cool while watching the game, she said they are always prepared for the worst.
One of the things we always do is make sure that there’s an EMT full time on staff, so we always have ProAction here, they’re great,” Olivas said. “The heat is one of the reasons why we have evening games and not anything during the day after the beginning of May, and that’s because it tends to cool down at night.
In section 207 is where paramedics are stationed, so if an emergency happens they are not even seconds away from helping.
Always remember, if you’re planning on doing anything outside this weekend, to stay hydrated and as shaded as possible.
