People are becoming more upset with the recent increase in gas prices.

CBS4 talked with Las Crucens and El Pasoans to get their reactions.

People said they are frustrated as gas prices surge.

Some even said they are scared since they don't know when this price increase will end.

“I think this is kinda crazy, I don’t understand why this has to happen,” said an El Pasoan.

“The way I see gas prices going up is totally ridiculous,” said another El Pasoan.

Some have said that inflation is their biggest concern.

Markets swung wildly Friday on worries about how much higher the war will push prices for oil, grains and other sources of inflation.

One El Pasoan is considering going electric.

“Honestly it’s pretty insane, it makes me want to get an electric car now,” said an El Pasoan

He said his gas was original $70 and he projects it will rise up to $100.

Other people are worried about the price increase because of their income.

“So that worries us, especially a lot of us are on a fixed income, it’s a lot out of our income,” said a New Mexican.

Students also said gas has taken up more of their monthly budget.

“Especially when you live like in this rural part of the community, you have to travel all the way to New Mexico State University and it’s a long ways to go and you just have to be more budget-conscious,” a student at New Mexico State said.

A gas station employee told CBS4 that they are expecting the gas in Anthony, Texas to go over $4 by Sunday.

As of March 4, 2020, the cheapest gas is at $3.89 and diesel is $4.64.

Customers are already complaining about prices, said the gas station employee.
