Man injured in bar brawl in Cincinnati Entertainment District ID'd

    El Paso police investigating serious fight in the Cincinnati District

    The man seriously injured in a brawl early Sunday morning was identified by El Paso police.

    Ernesto Chaparro, 25, taken to the hospital with serious injuries, said police.

    El Paso police said they are investigating a fight that started inside the Profe Bar and ended outside in the parking lot and along Mesa Street near Cincinnati Avenue.

    The call went out around 12:52 a.m. Police said they found Chaparro injured on the ground.

    Police said they were flagged down and alerted to the fight. When they arrived people in the crowd fled, police said.

    Investigators believe people who were involved in the fight inside the bar were pushed outside by bar security.

    A security guard was also assaulted in the melee, they said.

    North Mesa Street between Cincinnati Avenue and East Baltimore Drive remains closed as police investigate.
