Girl power event aims to spark El Paso girls’ interest in science, technology, engineering
About 500 girls will go to Eastwood High School Thursday for some serious girl power. It's an initiative to engage more young women in science, technology, engineering and math.
Borderland girls will get to experience STEM, possibly for the first time.
They will hear from speakers and STEM organizations about opportunities in the field.
They will also have engaging activities, workshops and leadership exercises.
There's a robotics speed-building competition as well.
The FREE event starts Thursday at 9:30 a.m. at the Eastwood High School gymnasium.
