Hospitals of Providence to break ground on its newest location
Thursday, groundbreaking will be held at 11 a.m. for the new Northeast Hospitals of Providence campus.
The micro hospital will be much smaller in scale as compared to the large locations in West El Paso.
It will be on the 11300 block of McCombs at the corner of US 54 and McCombs
The campus will be modeled after the Horizon City campus, which opened this fall.
It will house between eight and 10 inpatient beds for observation and short stay use.
This is in comparison to the 500 beds found at the Providence Memorial Hospital.
A spokesperson for the hospital says the facility will be equipped to respond to almost any medical emergency.
This includes life-threatening issues and those requiring critical care.
It will also include a similar number of emergency treatment and triage rooms for major emergencies.
The Hospitals of Providence has an emergency room located on McCombs just across the street from its new location. No word yet if that location will stay open once this new hospital is up and running.
