Power restored in Northeast El Paso

Hundreds without power in Northeast El Paso.

Hundreds of people were without power in Northeast El Paso, on Friday.

The El Paso Electric outage map showed 1,662 people were being affected near the Logan Heights area around 3:06 p.m.

The El Paso Electric Company said the cause of the outage by Mylar balloons that were tangled on power lines.

With graduation season, officials with the electric company recommend not releasing balloons.

Power was restored at 3:42 p.m.

Friday's temperature are expected to be 103 degrees.
