IDEA Public School will be breaking ground in the city of Socorro on Thursday morning.

The new campus will be off North Rio Vista Road between Alameda Avenue and North Loop Drive.

With 61 schools across Texas, Socorro will now foster another campus.

IDEA, which stands for "Individuals Dedicated to Excellence and Achievement", was developed in 2008.

According to Ernesto Cantu, Executive Director of IDEA Public Schools, it's never too early to start talking to kids about college.

He says they focus on getting kids into universities and being college-ready.

The campus will host more than 525 students.

Spaces for pre-K, kindergarten and first through sixth grades are available.

Every year a grade level is added until they have pre-K through 12th grade at one site.

Public school funding is given to the school.

IDEA Rio Vista will open its doors in 2018, however, applications are already being accepted.
